What if textiles can read your energy?

April 13, 2010

While exploring the opportunities to merge our scenario ‘Nurturing Nature’ into an interesting (product) idea, I came across these interesting prototypes. For example, Rachel Wingfield designed her project based on her interest for biological energy conversion in living cells and intracellular energy transfer. Wingfield made that energy conversion the focus of het project. Wingfield: “I plant to create textiles on an architectural scale from new composite materials that reflect the relationship between energy and structure , mirroring adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which stores and releases energy.”

These textiles are not entirely connecting to our scenario right now, but the techniques they’re using might be very interesting while taking it a step further into the future…..
