With all the up coming and new body art styles and body modifications, there is an American artist who does it the other way around. While people split their tongue, or whatever, Andrew Krasnow has spent his last 20 years in creating sculptures out of human skin.

He uses skin of white men who donated their bodies to science. His work is, according to him a commentary on human cruelty and America’s ethics and morality. Of course this all attracts a lot of controversy. It is only showed a couple of times, gallerys got to have a license by the UK’s Human Tissue Authority to display a complete exhibition. He tackles taboos, and in the first place it might be shocking to see, but on the other hand it makes you think. About the shifting morality as well as in America as in Europe, but also about the body modifications to make humans more mechanic or mechanics more human. How will our ethics and morals influence our behaviour?
