”Antagonistic/Nonconformistic” Exhibition

February 16, 2010

Today I went to The Hague, to see the exhibition ”Antagonistic/Nonconformistic” by Deltateliers. Most of them are graduated from the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten. This is part of Hoogtij – de Haagse Rondgang, which is held 4 times a year.

This is the 20st edition, and for this occasion there is an award for the best presentation, Prix de Mer. This is judged by a jury existing out of José Manuel Springer, de cultural attaché of the Mexican Embassy, and Roos van Put, Chief Editor of Kunstbeeld.  This exhibition was chosen the best, for their presentation in an old school building. It was very inspiring and interesting to see and experience.

In every room there is an installation of a different artist. Variating from illustrations to sound and light installations. Even though there was a big variation, the theme/concept could be felt in every room. They are all intriging and beautiful, though i didn’t always understand the meaning. However i could make my own interpretation. Maybe that’s a bit confusing about conceptual art, but yet also the beauty.
